Im Kaelynn, and I live and work in Sebastopol. I love the community here in West County, and could not feel more supported or blessed to be raising my 7 year old son here.
I have been a Massage Therapist for over 9 years and have loved the journey from the very start!
I was three or four when I knew what I wanted to do with my life. My grandma asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I looked her dead in the eyes and said, "I want to be a healer, I want to touch people."
I have always been attracted to alternative healing, live my life by it, and when I was old enough to attend massage school, off I went! I have a fantastic love for massage, for so many reasons. My top reason being; there is no replacement or machine that can convey the sincerity, compassion and healing that one can provide for another, simply through human touch.
It doesn't matter if you're a garbage man, school teacher, or CEO of the top billion dollar company. Bottom line, each of our anatomy is the same, and the body responds to touch. We all have very similar needs regardless of our job title.
I received my initial training from Calistoga School of Massage in Santa Rosa. It was a wonderful start, but I felt like there was more to learn and more technique to discover. My first "spa" job was in downtown Sebastopol at Sumbody. I decided I wanted to move on from there and I worked independently for the next 3 years visiting peoples homes while waitressing, slowly over the years massage faded as I had my son, and had other priorities being a new mama. I mainly focused on the small clientele I had established, can't forget friends and family, of course!
I then was introduced to the Dhyana Center (if you haven't been, I suggest checking it out. www.dhyanacenter.com They have a wonderful Self Care Studio complete with steam room, dry sauna and clawfoot bathtubs!).
In 2012, I wanted to take the Ayurvedic Course that was being offered, I thought it was a good idea to dive deeper in how the body works and responds to our environments in and out of our body. It was so great to have had that experience, it has helped me tremendously in my private practice, as well as in my personal life.
After completing from the program in 2013, I quit waitressing all together and jumped right in to full time massage at the Sebastopol Massage Center! That was a wonderful part of my journey. I continued my education achieving my 500 hour Massage Therapist Certification. (This is big for the state of California now.) I even had a wonderful opportunity to teach a class for Friends and Family Massage in 2014.
In May of 2015 I found a beautiful, fabulous office to rent with an acupuncturist and two psychotherapists! Now, here I am! Im ready and excited to share my new space with all of you!
