The USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center has been leading the fight against cancer for more than 40 years. USC Norris has a mission to translate scientific discoveries into innovative therapies for its patients. The cancer center’s research breakthroughs have led the way to a greater understanding of the underlying causes of cancer and new methods of prevention, detection and treatment. All of our clinical trials are reviewed and approved by the USC Health Sciences Institutional Review Board, which reviews each proposal for safety and ethical issues and ensures the protection of research participants.

NCI-designated research

USC Norris is one of the eight original comprehensive cancer centers designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Today, it is one of only 41 designated comprehensive cancer centers nationwide standing at the forefront of NCI-supported research.

Background

One of only a few facilities in Southern California built exclusively for cancer research and patient care, USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center is a 60-bed inpatient facility providing acute and critical care. The center features a designated bone marrow transplantation unit and a surgical unit with specially trained staff who focus on meeting the unique needs of cancer patients and their loved ones.
