Lone Eagle Pottery

I have always considered myself an oil painter and more recently, a sculptor. I enjoyed throwing on my pottery wheel in between sculptures. As fate would have it, my focus would change due to a little cheese making class. My friend Kate owns and runs The Art of Cheese (www.theartofcheese.com - Check out her site, she has local classes and she also sells educational videos). My husband and I attended her popular Valentine’s Day cheese making class. I noticed that she used plain white plates, and I suggested finding some fun plates. I envisioned drunken goat plates since we were making drunken goat cheese. She suggested that I make plates for her. At the time, I did not consider myself to be a potter, but I accepted the challenge. I have been testing and learning the complex art of plate making. What is now available for sale is the culmination of a labor of love. I am still constantly testing and learning, and items will come and go, and morph into different things.

The idea for the name Lone Eagle Pottery came from the lone bald eagle that frequents the magnificent lake where my husband and I go hiking.

As those close to me know, I am not very involved with social media. I spend my time creating things. I am going to do my best to post what I am working on here on my Lone Eagle Pottery Facebook page, and maybe on Instagram. Purchasing items will be available on my Etsy shop – Lone Eagle Pottery.
