Jim and Jeanine Bresnahan purchased the golf course in 2015 and are proud to carry on the tradition of golf through this family business. The Bresnahan family has been frequenting Door County and the Maxwelton Braes golf course since 1977. Throughout the years, Jim and Jeanine enjoyed many happy vacations in Door County with their three daughters and later their spouses and grandchildren, eventually buying a home in Door County in 2007.

Currently, Jim Bresnahan is managing the course with middle daughter Erin. As avid golfers, it’s not unusual to see Jim, Jeanine or family out on the course. The Bresnahan family is committed to making sure your round of golf is an enjoyable one, and our goal is to make sure Maxwelton Braes continues to be a destination golf course in Door County, as it has been since it opened. The course was designed by Joesph R. Roseman of Chicago, a well known golf course architect. The west side “9” was completed and open to the public later in 1929 and the second “9” on the east side was completed in 1931. We take pride in maintaining the course as it was originally laid out.
