McGuffey Art Center

With forty art studios that are open to the public, five exhibition spaces, performance and rehearsal space, McGuffey Art Center is one of Virginia’s premiere cultural destinations. Situated in the heart of Charlottesville, steps from the Downtown Mall, McGuffey is a resource for residents and visitors alike. Founded in 1975, its artists provide tours, classes, and community outreach to thousands of visitors annually.

It hosts a monthly First Friday reception (5:30 - 7:30 p.m.), plus a diverse calendar of classes and programs. The registered historic building is an outstanding venue for rentals and special events.
