Queens University of Charlotte began offering an undergraduate business program in 1978 and expanded to offer a Master of Business Administration in 1980. In 1993, the McColl School of Business was formally established as the university made a strong commitment to expand the growing business programs, which now include 4 graduate degrees and a graduate certificate.
From the beginning, the McColl School of Business has focused on leadership development, defined by Hugh McColl's 3 C's of Leadership:
Competence, from the organizational aspects of business to management and relationships;
Character, inspiring ethical leadership and trust among colleagues; and
Commitment to Community, encouraging balance between individual goals and the common good
