Severn Run Fight Club

To say it's a men's ministry doesn't adequately describe what Fight Club is. It's a program designed By Men. For Men. To Reach Men.

We have a mix of single and married men, most of us are mid 30s. But we have a few in their 20s and 40s and a couple of 50s.

Our commonality lies in our brokenness. We recognize that we are all broken men in need of our Savior. Other than that, we all come from different paths of life; blue collar, white collar and any other colored collar you want to put on. Some of us have wives and children, some don't. We are made up of many races, creeds and heritages, but we are all Men seeking our risen Lord.

This is not your typical discipleship ministry. It carries the flavor of what men desire: camaraderie, competition, and challenge. It pushes men to keep up and to reach new levels with Jesus. Not every man that starts will finish, as it contains a three-strike rule. Men will link arms in real accountability and will be able to spur one another on to good works.

Severn Run Fight Club began in the fall of 2013 with only six men in the basement of one of the leaders homes. Fight Club has since grown more than 1500%, that's right 1500%. The ministry is base on Nehemiah 4:14.

After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome,and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.”

Men grow intellectually, spiritually, physically and relationally. There is immediate impact on the man daring to take this journey. Men are taking back their roles as the servant leaders God has called them to be; at home, in church and in the workplace. Like we said, this is not your typical discipleship ministry.
