Stone Hollow Farmstead was founded in 1999 by Russell and Deborah Stone and their two daughters Fallon and Alexandra. Deborah grew up in a family of gardeners and farmers, and SHF allows her to share that heritage with her family. Her parents and both sets of grandparents raised cotton, as well as vegetables and flowers. Many of the flowers found at Stone Hollow Farmstead originated in Deborah's great-grandmothers' gardens.
Deborah’s grandfather Carl Bland raised cattle for meat and dairy products, farmed cotton and vegetables, and owned the local grocer, Bland and Bland. The produce department within Bland and Bland grocer featured the seasonal harvest from local farmers. “Buying local” was simply the way it was, and preserving the harvest was a necessity. Carl’s wife Bertha and daughter Sylvia were the family artisans who preserved the bounty of fresh fruits and vegetables for their family.
Today, Stone Hollow Farmstead houses several diverse but farm-related businesses: Stone Hollow Creamery, Stone Hollow Hanoverians, Botaniko Skin Care, Stone Hollow Cannery, and Stone Hollow Herbs, a certified herb processing facility that produces culinary herbs and herbal extracts for cosmetic manufacturing.
