Kutztown’s new Community Theatre comes to us from New York City. The Talisman Players of Staten Island, New York, was a highly respected community theatre group that produced quality theatre for over 30 years.
It was founded and directed by Tom Nardone; an educator and then consultant on “improving schools and instructional leadership” who also created a Junior High School in the Theatre District called “Theatre Arts 17”. The “Talisman” rich history over the years included children’s theatre, high school productions and “premier” fund-raising events.
In all of this, his daughter, Christine Nardone Storch, graduate and faculty member of the prestigious Wagner College of Staten Island and whose resume includes Broadway, Off-Broadway, Film and Television was his musical director who eventually took over as Director and formed her own theatre company: The Jr. Talisman Players. Here in our community she owns Christine’s Music Together.
Christine, along with her husband RC and her two children, Charlotte and Benjamin; moved to the area 3 years ago. Tom and his wife Carol of 45 years followed in December of 2013.
The Talisman Players have found a home at Trinity Lutheran Church and will soon begin their Fall 2015 season.
