Washington Place

Washington Place is a sustainable, mixed-use housing and commercial redevelopment project in Newtonville, MA led by Mark Development. Washington Place will provide a lively, innovative, and family-friendly atmosphere conveniently located close to public transit.

Located at the intersection of Walnut Street and Washington Terrace, the property will offer affordable housing, desirable retail shops, and vibrant restaurants. The layout of the project seeks to enhance the pedestrian experience, offering increased public space including a pleasant outdoor plaza for leisure and events. Its immediate proximity to an MBTA bus stop and the Newtonville Commuter Rails makes it easily accessible to and from surrounding communities.

Washington Place will house approximately 39,745 square feet of ground level commercial space for an expected mix of retail, restaurant, fitness, animal service, and personal service establishments. Above the commercial space will be 171 residential units across four levels, including approximately 2,030 square feet of community space with its own dedicated entrance and elevator. Ample parking for both commercial patrons and residential tenants will be provided. The property will be constructed on 2.85 acres currently occupied by aging commercial building and unmaintained parking lots.
