Lauren E. Williams | Abigail B. Walsh
Lauren E. Williams is from Holden Beach, NC. After graduating with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with dual degrees in Journalism and Political Science, she attended Tulane University School of Law. There, she earned her J.D. cum laude as well as a certificate in Admiralty and Maritime Law.

Lauren began her career as a criminal defense attorney in New Orleans in both private practice and as a public defender. At Laurie White & Associates, she handled criminal cases at all levels: local, state and federal. She also served as appellate and post-conviction counsel on several criminal cases. As a public defender in Jefferson Parish, she specialized in drug charges and successfully maintained a heavy caseload while devoting time to address the questions and concerns of each client and their families.

Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Lauren relocated closer to home to Charleston. Beginning in early 2006, Lauren worked as an associate at Savage & Savage, P.A., and worked side-by-side with local attorney Andy Savage on local, state and federal cases, including cases of both regional and national notoriety. She was also an adjunct professor of Legal Research, Writing and Analysis at the Charleston School of Law, and has served as a Charleston Pro Bono Project Lawyer Volunteer, as well as a Planned Parenthood Young Advocate Volunteer. Lauren is also a member of the Charleston County Friends of the Library.

In 2010, Lauren joined forces with Abigail Walsh to found the innovative, women-owned boutique firm, Williams & Walsh. At all levels of local, state and federal courts, Williams & Walsh is guided by experience, effectiveness and empathy, and offers comprehensive representation to people in need, of all backgrounds.

Lauren was admitted to all Louisiana state courts in 2002; the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana in 2003; the U.S. Court of Appeal for the Fifth Circuit in 2003; all South Carolina state courts in 2006; and U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina in 2006, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in 2006.

ABIGAIL B. WALSH is from Washington, D.C. and specializes in local, state, and federal criminal cases and plaintiffs litigation. After graduating cum laude from the College of Charleston with dual degrees in History and Anthropology, she attended Washington & Lee School of Law in Lexington, Virginia. There, she earned her J.D. and the title of the American Bar Association Southeast Regional Negotiation Competition Champion in 2002 after defeating competitors from over 80 law schools while simultaneously representing and assisting female inmates at the Alderson Federal Prison Camp in Alderson, West Virginia, with preparing petitions for writs of habeas corpus, and reviewing and resolving issues relating to federal and/or state sentencing.

Abigail began her legal career following law school as an Assistant Solicitor with the Charleston County Solicitor’s Office where she handled over 300 criminal cases including drug crimes and trafficking, burglary, armed robbery, breach of trust, criminal domestic violence, murder, weapon offenses, property crimes, and violent crimes.

Following the Charleston County Solicitor’s Office, Abigail joined the nationally recognized firm of Motley Rice in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, as an associate attorney in the toxic torts litigation division where she managed over 25 asbestos cases, including a secondary household exposure mesothelioma case, on an active trial docket in St. Louis, Missouri. There she conducted investigations into various clients’ exposure to asbestos-contaminated products, deposed and defended depositions, and conducted extensive discovery and legal research to prepare cases for trial.

Abigail then joined the boutique law firm of Hulsey Litigation Group in Charleston, South Carolina. As an associate attorney she assisted with the management of and participated in cases filed in state court in Arkansas, and in federal court in Puerto Rico, South Carolina, and Florida. She worked on various cases including but not limited to catastrophic personal injury cases involving but not limited to severe spinal and brain injuries, toxic tort personal injury and wrongful death cases involving the exposure to harmful chemicals and toxins, wrongful death cases resulting from plane crashes, defective aviation design, and/or pilot error, asbestos-exposure and related disease cases including mesothelioma, health care insurance fraud cases, and premises liability cases in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Abigail participated in all stages of civil litigation and remained extensively engaged in complex service of process issues and civil discovery with foreign defendants and conducted extensive research into corporate parent and subsidiary business relationships for purposes of filing suit and developing liability, resolving conflicts of law and the taking of depositions abroad issues. While working for the Hulsey Litigation Group, Abigail passed the federal bar in Puerto Rico.

In 2006, Abigail opened her own law firm, Abigail B. Walsh, LLC, and specialized in local, state, and federal criminal cases, and general civil litigation including but not limited to plaintiff’s construction defect cases, pregnancy discrimination cases, sexual harassment cases, breach of contract cases, commercial litigation, landlord/tenant disputes, and real estate litigation.

In 2010, Abigail joined forces with attorney Lauren E. Williams to found the innovative, premier boutique law firm of Williams & Walsh, LLC.

Abigail was admitted to the South Carolina bar in 2003; the United States District Court in South Carolina in 2005; the United States Supreme Court in 2008; and passed the federal bar of Puerto Rico in 2006.
