World Taekwondo History

Grandmaster Byung Yul Lee came from Seoul Korea in 1968 and was one of the first Master instructors to come to the U.S. to teach Taekwondo. He landed in Minneapolis, MN where he established the World Taekwondo Academy in 1969.

Through his knowledge and leadership W.T.A. became one of the nations top schools where he produced thousands of champions, not just in sport but in life. His contributions helped Taekwondo become one of the largest sports and martial arts in the world. He dedicated his life to Taekwondo and we are fortunate to have instructors who were trained by him. Even though Grand-master Lee has passed, his legacy will continue to grow through all of his black belts and instructors. He is a man who impacted and inspired so many lives and his presence will be missed but never forgotten. Legends never die.

The Eden Prairie location is conveniently located off of Shady Oak Road in Eden Prairie. The dojang features a training area with a variety of workout equipment and a viewing area with comfortable chairs, TV and DVD player. Programs offered include Little Dragons Taekwondo, Kickboxing and Taekwondo classes for kids and adults.
